Vision
The Knik Tribe Housing Program aspires to serve our Housing beneficiaries in our Service Area with safe, healthy, affordable housing that meets their needs, and to provide this service in a manner consistent with Dena’ina traditions, culture, and values.
Mission
The Knik Tribe Housing Program will work to maintain and improve housing conditions for beneficiaries in the KTC Service Area, and will work with partners towards an independent, sustainable Housing Program which is compatible and reflective of our Dena’ina traditions, culture, and values.

PROGRAMS
Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and Native American Housing Assistance & Self Determination Act (NAHASDA)Indian Housing Block Grant
A program that funds affordable housing activities, including new housing construction, rehabilitation, and housing services.

Service Provided: Affordable rental housing
Program Description: HUD NAHASDA Federally assisted Rental housing; rent is calculated at 30% of the gross household income. Security Deposit equal to rent.
Our rental units are all located within the Mat-Su Valley and leased on a month-to-month basis. We keep an ongoing open active waitlist.
We include yard maintenance, snow plowing and some units have trash service provided by Knik Tribe.
Eligibility:

Complete application with all required docs.

Hold a certificate of Indian Blood proving Alaska Native/American Indian descent.

Earn 80% or less of the HUD median income based on family size.

Have utilities in your name and pay them monthly (MEA/ENSTAR).

Background check for all adults 18 and over – $25 background fee per family.

No pets allowed.
